Aranet4 Named Most Innovative Product of the Year at Export and Innovation Awards 2019

On the 5th of December at a grand ceremony the former president of Latvia Vaira Vike-Freiberga together with representatives of the Ministry of Economics and Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) presented the prizes to the winners of the Annual Export and Innovation Awards 2019. The leading exporters and most innovative companies in Latvia were honored.

SAF Tehnika’s wireless indoor air quality sensor Aranet4 won the first prize in the Innovative Product category.

“By not ventilating our spaces properly we suffocate ourselves, our employees in offices, our loved ones at home, as well as children in schools, kindergartens and other environments. In order to be energy efficient, we are told to do our best to fill any cracks and gaps in the walls to keep the indoor environment warm. The result is stale indoor air. And this is where the Aranet4 story begins: you can only improve what you can measure!” said Normunds Bergs, the chairman of the board of SAF Tehnika JSC during the award ceremony while also thanking the company`s employees for their invested time.

Aranet4 is an innovative, standalone device for effortless monitoring of indoor air quality – carbon dioxide (CO2), temperature, relative humidity and atmospheric pressure made by Latvian company SAF Tehnika.

Majority of people spend more than 90 percent of their time indoors. Studies such as this one from the Harvard University show that heightened CO2 concentration reduces our abilities to concentrate, perceive and analyze information by 50 percent possibly causing tiredness, drowsiness and headaches. Aranet4 allows you to monitor indoor air quality and prevent adverse health effects before it’s too late.

Aranet4 shows CO2 measurements directly on its e-ink screen with a corresponding color indicator and configurable sound alarms. The device also has an iOS and Android app allowing you to configure reading frequency and other parameters, as well as view and download last 7-day measurement history.

The product is small, compact and easy to use wherever you go. The device is powered by two AA batteries. Aranet4 is designed for personal as well as business needs. It can be used for daily indoor air monitoring at home, or up to 100 Aranet4 devices can be placed in multiple rooms and wirelessly connected to an Aranet PRO base station ensuring climate monitoring on an industrial level.
