Apogee Light Sensors and Infrared Radiometers, Now Wireless with Aranet
Accurate light and canopy temperature data can unlock better decisions in climate strategy, irrigation timing, and crop steering. Soon, Aranet will expand its commercial horticulture portfolio with eight industry leading Apogee sensors, made entirely wireless through the new Aranet Apogee Transmitter.
The transmitter connects these precision instruments directly to the Aranet Pro ecosystem, allowing commercial growers to collect data via local base stations and view it in Aranet Cloud alongside their existing climate and root-zone measurements.
Unifying Fragmented Greenhouse Data
Integrating these new sensors into a single dashboard resolves a major headache for commercial greenhouse operators: fragmented data across multiple standalone systems.
Aranet has long supported greenhouse monitoring across climate, root zone, and light. This collaboration gives customers more options for how they capture light and canopy temperature data, while keeping everything unified in one wireless ecosystem. The result is a clearer, more comparable view across zones, and measurements that are easier to scale as a greenhouse expands or changes.
Gints Antoms, Aranet Business Development Director
By combining Aranet's robust wireless infrastructure with Apogee's highly trusted instruments, this partnership brings a new level of flexibility and scalability to commercial facilities and research environments.
Advanced Sensor Integration for Precision Crop Steering
The expanded portfolio introduces five core wireless monitoring capabilities designed to withstand demanding, high-humidity greenhouse environments:
PAR Sensor

Measure Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PPFD / PAR) for sunlight, greenhouse, and LED installations to validate light levels and optimize your lighting strategy. Designed for highly accurate PAR measurements across different light sources, it features a spectral range from 400 to 700 nm.
ePAR Sensor

The extended range PAR (ePAR) sensor features a measurement range beyond standard PAR, capturing wavelengths up to 750 nm. This capability is especially relevant when far-red light is part of your crop steering and lighting strategy.
PAR-FAR Sensor

A two-channel sensor that measures both PAR (400 to 700 nm) and far-red (700 to 750 nm) wavelengths. This split helps growers evaluate fixtures that include far-red output and supports more informed light-recipe tuning. It is designed for continuous, reliable measurement in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Pyranometer

The pyranometer is engineered to quantify global solar radiation, supporting outdoor and greenhouse monitoring where sunlight intensity is a key driver of plant response and energy balance. It features a spectral range from 360 to 1120 nm.
Infrared Radiometers

These non-contact infrared radiometers measure plant surface temperature, which serves as a practical, real-time indicator of crop response and water stress. To accommodate different facility layouts, 4 models are available with various fields of view:
- Narrower angles help focus on a smaller, precise target area from the same mounting position.
- Wider or horizontal fields of view are optimized to better match specific bench or gutter layouts.
Expanding New Application Opportunities
This integration bridges the gap between precision data gathering and seamless wireless telemetry, allowing growers to deploy specialized sensors wherever they are needed most without the constraints of complex hardwiring.
We are proud to collaborate with an industry leader in light monitoring such as Apogee Instruments. Through this cooperation, we combine Aranet’s expertise in wireless data infrastructure with highly trusted light measurement solutions for greenhouse and research environments. We see this partnership opening new application opportunities for Apogee sensors while also expanding Aranet’s greenhouse product portfolio.
