SAF Tehnika Puts mioty® to the Test: RTU Deployment Results

We teamed up with Riga Technical University to deploy around 3,000 wireless sensors across campus buildings and dormitories, one of the largest active mioty® networks running today.

At the mioty® Global Summit 2026 in Berlin, our project manager Dr. Edgars Spārniņš shared the results: a head to head pilot against our standard Aranet radio protocol, close to 500 sensors on each side, in matching dorm buildings. mioty® delivered orders of magnitude lower packet loss, though it came with a trade-off: shorter battery life on the same hardware.
